An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Six-Sheet Movie Poster (6sh; measures 81" x 81" [206 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Strings of Steel, the 1926 Hugh McRae silent action adventure thriller serial ("An adventure picture") starring William Desmond, Eileen Sedgwick (one of the only true cowgirl stars of the silent era, she had starred in serials for years, and when westerns became popular in the mid-1920s, she starred in several of those), Albert J. Smith, George Ovey, and Ted Duncan. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. We were unable to find any plot information about it. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a one-sheet and a glass slide from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this six-sheet! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had some small areas of paper loss at crossfolds, and a few small tears and small areas of paper loss on parts of just a few folds. There was a 3/4" x 2" area of paper loss in the window to the right of the girl's leg. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed onto linen, but with no restoration at all. One could leave the poster exactly as it is, accepting that it is nearly a century old, or one might choose to have restoration performed to this extremely rare poster (very likely the only existing example).
