A Set of 2 Original Vintage Movie Scripts (each measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm], one has 118 pages and one has 142 pages) (Learn More)

Gerswhin, the proposed movie Martin Scorsese was intending to direct about the life of George Gershwin, the famous composer. Paul Schrader wrote a first screenplay in 1985 entitled "Gershwin", but that never became a movie, and in 1993, John Guare write a completely different script (now called "Mine"), but that, too, was never made into a movie. Given that Paul Schrader wrote two of Scorsese's greatest hits, "Taxi Driver" and "Raging Bull", we are surprised that his version was never filmed, and John Guare is the playwright who wrote "Six Degrees of Separation" and wrote the screenplay for "Atlantic City", so it is also surprising that his version was not made. Perhaps one day Scorsese will either resurrect one of these scripts or commission a third one, and the movie can finally be made!
Important Added Info: Note that both of these scripts are dated to when they were first written, but we strongly suspect they were created in the 1990s, perhaps when they were circulated to screenwriters, either with the intention of having them create a third script, or seeing if they thought either script could be revised, but do not bid on them thinking they were created in 1985 and 1993, as they were likely created after that. Note that these two scripts were consigned to us by a man who has been a screenwriter for decades. He has sent us a collection of scripts that he accumulated over those years. Some were from projects he was working on, some were from projects he was considering working on, and some were sent to him by friends in the screenwriting community! These are all definitely original scripts, direct from a Hollywood screenwriter.

Condition: very good to fine. See our multiple images to get a good sense of the exact condition of this script.
