EC Horror Library of the 1950s, the 1971 illustrated horror thriller comic book anthology compilation featuring reprints of classic stories from E.C. Comics. EC Comics (E.C. Comics), the 1940s to 1950s comic books (published by Bill Gaines, later publisher of Mad Magazine) specializing in horror, crime, satire, and science fiction comics. Their most recognizable comic was "Tales From The Crypt" and "Mad" comic books (which predated the magazine). Mounting censorship pressure (and a U.S. Senate investigation!) prompted the company to fold its comics and to solely focus on Mad magazine which became the company's biggest success. This book was published by Woody Gelman, who owned Nostalgia Press, and it was laid out by Ron Barlow, who one year later would co-organize the "First Annual EC Convention" with Bruce Hershenson in New York City, which led to twelve EC comic book reprints published by Barlow and Hershenson, the first full-color licensed reprints not published by a comic book company!
Artist: Al Feldstein
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this cool hardcover book, which is revered by hardcore EC fans and referred to as "The Big Book". This particular copy of it has unusual significance. It was owned by Ron Barlow, who laid out the book for Woody Gelman, and while there is nothing in the book to note that it was his personal copy, it was in his possession when he sadly passed away, and has now been consigned to eMoviePoster.com from his estate. Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads.

Condition: good. The book itself has some faint staining on the blank covers. The dust jacket has a large tear in the top right and some tears and tiny paper loss around the edges, with paper loss in the middle of the spine.
