An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Teaser One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, the 1984 Steven Spielberg romantic treasure hunting action adventure fantasy melodrama sequel ("If adventure has a name... it must be Indiana Jones."; "Trust him."; "If adventure has a name, Trust him. Indiana Jones."; "The Hero is back"; "Story by George Lucas"; with a great soundtrack by John Williams) starring Harrison Ford (in the title role as Indiana Jones), Kate Capshaw (as Willie Scott), Amrish Puri (as Mola Ram), Roshan Seth, Philip Stone, Jonathan Ke Quan (billed as "introducing Ke Huy Quan"; as Short Round), and Dan Aykroyd NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Chris Hopkins Important Added Info: Note that there are reproductions of this poster that do not have the "flower" pattern in the black background around the border, but this poster does have the flower pattern and is 100% original. Also note that this is a rare teaser one-sheet (note the lack of credits on the poster). Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster had tiny surface paper loss along most foldlines (typical of high-gloss posters of this period). There were two 1 1/2" tears in the lower right of the image, one above the other. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but the restorer did not touch up the two tears described above (although any restorer could easily touch them up without re-backing the poster).
