Appears in Vintage Hollywood Posters 8 CATALOG SOLD OUT The image at right appears in the auction catalog we published as shown above and was sold long ago and we do NOT have it available for purchase. Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (measures 12" x 18"; 4 cover pages, plus 10 single-sided interior pages, plus 4 single-sided newsprint pages, called the "publicity section". Also included is a "tipped in" herald which measures 9" x 12") (Learn More) Son of Kong, the 1933 Ernest B. Schoedsack fantasy horror action adventure thriller sequel ("Laughs! Thrills! Pathos!"; "New Thrills! New Adventure! New Romance!"; note that King Kong was SO successful that RKO rushed out a very rare same-year sequel, but they made Kong's son a smaller size than his father ["only" 12 feet tall], perhaps because that made filming easier) starring Robert Armstrong (reprising his role as Carl Denham from the previous King Kong), Helen Mack, Frank Reicher, John Marston, Victor Wong, and Edward Brady NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that I have never seen another example of this pressbook. It is especially valuable to collectors, since most of the posters pictured within are not known to exist (for unknown reasons, posters from this movie are exceedingly rare). All of the standard posters and lobby cards are pictured on the covers (and interior covers, and other pages also picture many other unknown items such as the tire cover, the silk burgee, the door hanger, the streamer, and more). If there is another example of this pressbook, it is unlikely the newsprint "publicity section" has survived very well, given the fragility of its paper. Plus you get an unused example of the herald! Condition: very good to fine. the covers are almost completely separated at the spine and there are creases and small tears down the length of the spine. The pressbook was folded in half, and there are scuff marks on the front cover along the foldline. There are a few scuffs within the bottom of the image area. The interior of the pressbook is in about as good condition as one could imagine it! There are almost no defects within. The "publicity section" has become fragile, as would be expected, and there is a 1 1/2" tear in the first page along the outer part of the fold, but otherwise it too, is in excellent condition. The herald is in wonderful, unused condition! Learn More about condition grades
