Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Land Beyond the Law, the 1927 Harry Joe Brown silent cowboy western ("Story and adaptation by Marion Jackson") starring Ken Maynard, Dorothy Dwan, Tom Santschi, Noah Young, Gibson Gowland, and Billy Butts. Note that "Tarzan", Ken Maynard's horse, is not billed in this movie. We don't know if he appeared in it uncredited, but we do know that he had been in several Ken Maynard films prior to this one (he had been bought by Maynard for $50 in 1925, and after he was called "Tarzan" in a movie, Edgar Rice Burroughs threatened to sue Maynard, and they settled when Maynard agreed to have him billed as "Tarzan, The Wonder Horse", and he soon had permanent billing alongside Maynard, and he performed with Maynard for the next 15 years or so!) It now looks great, and most dealers would describe it as "fine (or mint) on linen". We have noted the defects that were restored below (and feel everyone should always do this!). Many collectors would not be aware of the restoration this poster has had unless it was specifically shown to them! Condition: fine. The poster has had very minor restoration along the foldlines. Whoever linenbacked the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, but this does not affect the poster at all.. Most of the linenbacked posters we sell were restored by the finest professionals. An expertly linenbacked poster will often appear "mint", as its defects have been made to "vanish". We are the only seller we are aware of who always tries to describe the condition of the poster prior to being linenbacked, so you are fully aware of what restoration was performed.
