An Original Vintage Theatrical 7 1/4" x 9" [18 x 23 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) The Blackbird (also known as "The Black Bird"), the 1926 Tod Browning silent romantic love triangle crime thriller ("Story by Tod Browning"; a really wild story of a master thief in London who steals at night, and by day poses as his saintly crippled twin brother known as The Bishop who works at a rescue mission, and the thief and his arch rival West End Bertie are both in love with the same girl so the Black Bird frames Bertie for shooting a cop, but the police discover the truth of that lie, and to escape, the Black Bird pretends to fight with his crippled brother behind a closed door and when the door suddenly opens it strikes Chaney who is now disguised as the Bishop, and he falls and breaks his back for real, dying soon after) starring Lon Chaney Sr. (in the title role as "The Black Bird"), Owen Moore, Renee Adoree, Doris Lloyd, and Andy MacLennan. Note that the IMDb lists the title of this movie as "The Blackbird", but the posters have the title as "The Black Bird". However, the original campaign book trade ad shows it as "The Blackbird", so we imagine the title was changed just prior to release, and it is difficult to say that one is more accurate than the other. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been trimmed and it now measures 7 1/4" x 9" [18 x 23 cm]. Condition: good.
