An Original Vintage Local Theater Program (measures 6" x 8 1/4" [15 x 21 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) Loew's Weekly, the 1929 local theater program advertising the complete program for the week of August 27th to September 2nd at the Loew's Theatre, which included the following movies: Thunder, The Fall Of Eve, She Goes To War, and The Single standard. But probably the most interesting thing about this is that it has an article on the front page telling that Hallelujah is having its world premiere. It says that the motion picture "is said to be a striking departure from anything yet attempted in the cinema field". It adds that "for years Vidor had planned to make an epic story of Negro life", because he "was born in the southland and was familiar with Negro life and traditions and considered that this race offered splendid subject matter for dramatic treatment".
