Date Sold 12/25/2008Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Carnival Boat, the 1932 Albert S. Rogell romantic adventure melodrama ("Lusty melodrama of the tall timberlands") starring William Boyd (billed as "Bill Boyd"), Fred Kohler, Hobart Bosworth, Ginger Rogers, and Marie Prevost. Note that Ginger Rogers was the romantic co-star in the movie, and the movie centered around her love affair with Boyd, and how his father did not want him involved with her, because she was an entertainer on a carnival boat, but Boyd was such a big star at this time that the poster designer devoted the entire one-sheet to a huge striking image of him, and could not find any room for an image of sexy young Ginger Rogers! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. There was a tear in the middle right of the poster caused by rough removal of pins, and someone put two pieces of tape on the back of that area. There is paper loss in the top left blank corner, also caused by rough removal of pins and there is a piece of tape on the back of a part of the bottom foldline, mending a tear. The above defects are pretty minor, and after a simple linenbacking by a talented professional, the poster will look great! Learn More about condition grades
