An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Special Movie Poster (measures 40 1/2" x 52") (Learn More) The Egg and I, the classic 1947 Chester Erskine romantic city-folks-move-to-the-country hillbilly screwball comedy ("a best seller becomes a best picture!"; "From the Best Selling Book by Betty MacDonald"; "Produced and Written for the Screen by Chester Erskine and Fred F. Finklehoffe") starring Claudette Colbert, Fred MacMurray, Marjorie Main (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; as Ma Kettle), Louise Albritton, Percy Kilbride (as Pa Kettle), Billy House, and Richard Long. Note that the minor characters in this movie, Ma & Pa Kettle, proved to be so popular that they were given their own movie two years after this one, and there was a long running series of hillbilly "Kettles" comedies! Important Added Info: Note that this special poster was a movie tie-in at the time when "The Egg and I" was released. This poster has Claudette Colbert promoting Royal Crown Cola ("'RC tastes best!' says Claudette Colbert; Royal Crown Cola Best by taste test"). Note that this poster was printed "six up" on one large sheet (meaning that six were printed at one time to save on printing costs, and then the sheet was trimmed so that each of the six posters could be used as intended). The uncut sheet measures 40 1/2" x 52", but each individual poster measures approximately 12" x 30". Condition: good. There are many creases around the edges of the poster with many creases and tears in the top right of our image. All of the six different posters are affected to varying degrees by these creases and tears. There is one of the six that has very little creasing, and several that have a lot of creases.
