Psych Out, the 1962 Walt Phillips sports surfing documentary ("Walt Phillips presents his all new color surfing movie"; "Surfing shorts from Banzai Pipeline, Sunset Beach, Haliwea, Waimea Bay, Ala Moana, Santa Cruz, Rincon, Malibu, South Bay, La Jolla, Mexico, Surfside, Palos Verdes, Dana Point, Trestles"). If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Important Added Info: Note that this is a poster created for a 16mm showing of this movie in the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium for one day only in 1962 (the film was returning from its first performance, but with added footage). We believe it is the only size poster that was created for this movie. Also note that we put most of the linenbacked items in this June Major Auction in Part I and Part III, but we did not put this item (which is one of three small linenbacked surfing posters in this auction) in those parts, because it will be sent in a flat package, as many of the items in Part II will. It CAN'T be rolled or combined with roll-able items.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had some minor border wear. The red printing on the poster may have faded somewhat, but it also might have been printed that way, because we have not seen another example of the poster. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
