Artist: Philip Castle Important Added Info: Note that this movie was first released in England in January of 1972, but some cities and towns would not show it for at least a year because of the subject matter (some contemporary newspaper ads mentioned "London release will not be until 1973"). As the release was expanded in late 1972 and 1973 more posters were printed. The very rare early 1972 posters and items featured the older Warner Bros "shield" logo (and/or mentioned "A Kinney Company"), while the 1972/1973 posters featured the Saul Bass designed "big W" logo (and/or mention "A Warner Communications Co"). The poster offered here features the "big W" logo and was printed in late 1972 or early 1973 for the continuous first release. Also, note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this English movie! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The top 3" of the poster was trimmed off, as was 1/2" from the left and right borders, and some tiny paper loss around the edges of what remained, but only blank white paper was affected. There were also some small tears, smudges, and tiny bits of paper loss scattered throughout. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. A really talented restorer did an excellent job replacing the missing blank paper and also restoring the defects, and the poster will display really well on the new owner's wall, and it is unlikely that anyone would realize the poster had extensive restoration, even looking pretty closely at it!
