An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Son of Dracula, the 1943 Robert Siodmak Universal vampire monster horror thriller sequel ("Red Lips Thirsting!"; "Pale Hands Caressing!"; in this sequel, the Count travels from Budapest to the Deep South of the U.S.!; this is the first Dracula movie that shows him transforming into a bat on screen) starring Louise Allbritton, Robert Paige, Evelyn Ankers, Frank Craven, J. Edward Bromberg, Samuel S. Hinds, Adeline De Walt Reynolds, Pat Moriarty, and Lon Chaney Jr. (in the title role as Count Dracula; he is credited on some posters as "Lon Chaney as Count Dracula", though his actual character name in this film is "Count Alucard", which of course is "Dracula" spelled backwards!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have not auctioned this scene card for 14 years! Also note that this lobby card has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the lobby card was backed onto a heavy paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original lobby card (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. Prior to paperbacking, the card had 1" trimmed from the left, right, and top borders, and 1/2" trimmed from the bottom border. There were also some stains, smudges, and scuffs scattered in the part of the card that remained. Overall, the lobby card was in fair condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, and the missing areas on all four sides pretty well replaced, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
