eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 7a0315 MCKENNA OF THE MOUNTED 1sh 1932 great art of Buck Jones in shadows, he gets his man, rare! Date Sold 12/27/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) McKenna of the Mounted, the 1932 D. Ross Lederman Canadian Royal Mounted Police Mountie cowboy western ("He always 'gets' his man!") starring Buck Jones (in the title role as Sergeant Tom McKenna), Greta Granstedt, Walter McGrail, Mitchell Lewis, and Glenn Strange (in one of his many early uncredited roles). Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned three examples of this one-sheet (which has one of the best images of Buck Jones, and is one of the finer 1930s one-sheets, period!) and only one in the last 22 years, and that example sold for $1,150! Condition: very good. The poster has 1" of separation and tiny paper loss at the top two crossfolds with 1 1/2" at the bottom crossfold. It has some pinholes and creases around the edges. It has a 1 1/2" vertical tear in the black background in the left of the middle fold. Learn More about condition grades
