Van Dyke historical French Revolution France biography romantic melodrama ("The crowning glory of the screen!"; "Based in Part on the Book by Stefan Zweig"; according to IMDB, F. Scott Fitzgerald was an uncredited writer for this film; obviously, the screenwriters took great liberties with actual history and this is very fictionalized) starring Norma Shearer (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Marie Antoinette), Tyrone Power Jr., John Barrymore (as King Louis XV), Robert Morley (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as King Louis XVI), Anita Louise, Joseph Schildkraut, Gladys George (as Mme. du Barry), Henry Stephenson, Scotty Beckett, and Cora Witherspoon

Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this window card, and that was 12 years ago! Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 14" x 16 3/4" [36 x 43 cm].

Condition: fair. The bottom 5 1/4" of the card was trimmed off, removing the bottom half of the title and the small credits (the card has no blank left and right borders, so it looks like it could have been trimmed on those sides, but it measures the full 14", and it was printed with a full bleed on the left, right, and bottom). We can provide the buyer with a scan of the completed card (because we auctioned one once before), and that will greatly aid in the restoration of this card.
