An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Japanese "B1" Export Movie Poster (29x41; measures 28 1/2" x 40 1/2") (Learn More) Furankenshutain no Kaiju: Sanda tai Gaira (released in the U.S. in 1970 as "War of the Gargantuas"), the 1966 Ishiro Honda Japanese Toho kaiju battling rubbery monsters science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("Giant excitement! Giant terror!"; "The world's most terrifying monsters fight for the global title in the mightiest battles ever seen!"; "Can a country survives when two Gargantuas battle to the death?"; "Godzilla and Rodan fight the monster from outer space to save the world!"; "All new! Never before seen!" starring Russ Tamblyn, Kumi Mizuno, Kenji Sahara, Nobuo Nakamura, Jun Tazaki, and Kipp Hamilton. Note that this movie was a sequel to "Furankenshutain tai chitei kaiju Baragon" which was released in the U.S. as "Frankenstein Conquers the World" NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare "country of origin" poster for this Japanese movie! Also note that this is a Japanese export poster. This means that it was printed in Japan, but was intended to be used when the movie was shown in English speaking countries. Finally, note that this is a rare Japanese "B1" poster that measures approximately 28 1/2" x 40 1/2"! "B1" posters are FAR more rare than "B2" posters (which measure approximately 20" x 28 1/2"), and because they are larger (similar in size to a U.S. one-sheet), they are more impressive when displayed on a wall! Condition: good to very good. The poster had paper loss at all three crossfolds and many creases and tears and some tiny paper loss down the entire vertical foldline. There was a much lesser amount of wear on the horizontal folds and some creases, smudges, and tears around the edges of the poster, with diagonal creases above and below the center of the left and right borders. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was quite nicely backed. The person who did the restoration did a nice job of replacing the missing areas and doing restoration to the vertical foldline. It appears that a fair amount of paint restoration was used in the white and red background areas, but it is not all that noticeable. From any reasonable viewing distance, the poster looks quite nice! Learn More about condition grades
