An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 40 3/4" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Nabonga (Gorilla), the 1944 Sam Newfield African jungle ape adventure thriller starring Buster Crabbe, Barton MacLaine, Fifi D'Orsay, Julie London (billed as "introducing Julie London"), Bryant Washburn, and Ray Corrigan (in the title role as Nabonga, the gorilla!). Note that this movie was released in England as "The Jungle Woman". Note that Crash Corrigan made a REALLY wise investment in the 1930s, when he bought a "gorilla suit". In many of the movies in the 1940s where there is a fake gorilla, it is played by Crash Corrigan, no doubt because he could supply the suit! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster! We have never auctioned a "style B" poster for this title in all our years of auctioning. Note also that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 27" x 40 3/4" [69 x 104 cm]. Condition: fair to good. The poster is in lesser condition. There are several defects scattered along the borders and foldlines/crossfolds, and there are one or more areas of significant foldline and/or crossfold separation. Most of the separation is located in the upper crossfold area and in several inches of the lower vertical foldline, and most of it and a tear at upper right in the title (see our image) is repaired with tape from the back. It is trimmed along the upper edge. The rare poster is in urgent need of restoration, and certainly a competent restorer could repair the defects described above, but please bear in mind the cost of restoration before placing a bid.
