An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) They Drive By Night (released in England as "The Road to Frisco"), the 1940 Raoul Walsh trucker romantic love triangle action melodrama ("No picture in 1940 will have bigger thrills!"; "From a Novel by A.I. Bezzerides"; about truckers and their love lives; it stole part of its plot from "Bordertown"!) starring George Raft, Ann Sheridan, Ida Lupino, Humphrey Bogart, Alan Hale Sr., Gale Page, Roscoe Karns, John Litel, Charles Halton, Charles C. Wilson, George Tobias, and Henry O'Neill. Note that movies rarely have top stars in all four lead roles (other than MGM movies of the 1930s and early 1940s, because they had so many such stars that they could afford to do this), but this movie is kind of a rare exception. We say "kind of" because Humphrey Bogart and Ida Lupino were not yet top stars when they made this movie, but the very next movie they made was "High Sierra", which did help elevate both of them to greater stardom! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good to very good. The card has darkened, typical of Warner Bros. linen lobby cards of this period. There is faint vertical scuffing running down the card, just to the right of Bogart's ear, going through his coat (see our image). There are pinholes in the corners and one in the center of the bottom border, with minor border wear. Otherwise, the card is in pretty nice condition.
