An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 5 1/4" x 8 1/2" [13 x 22 cm] when folded; 4 pages) (Learn More)

Romance of the Redwoods, the 1917 Cecil B. DeMille silent mistaken identity western romantic melodrama ("A red-blooded story of the majestic forests and great plains."; "By Cecil B. DeMille & Jeanie Macpherson", about a notorious bandit who finds a dead man and switches places with him and assumes his identity; but then, the man's niece comes to visit, and she realizes he is an impostor, but she is broke, so she agrees to go along with his masquerade; they start out disliking each other, but over time, they start to fall in love, and at the film's climax, the law arrives to arrest the bandit, and she helps him escape while sacrificing her honor) starring Mary Pickford, Elliott Dexter, Tully Marshall, Raymond Hatton, and Charles Ogle. Note that this was a nice change for Mary Pickford, because she did not play a young girl, but rather a young woman (she was 25 when the movie was made, and co-star Elliott Dexter was 37).
