An Undated (probably 1930s) Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Hell's House, the 1932 Paul Gangelin & B. Harrison Orkow bad teens reform school bootlegging crime melodrama ("A human symphony for all ages!"; about a teenage boy who is orphaned and idolizes a bootlegger, and he goes to work for him, and takes the blame for him when something goes wrong, and he is sent to reform school!) starring Pat O'Brien, Junior Durkin, Frank Coghlan Jr., Emma Dunn, and Bette Davis (very young in this role!). Note that this movie came out before Bette Davis was a star, and she plays the minor role of the bootlegger's girlfriend, and is not billed or pictured on the original posters, and rightfully so. But soon after the movie's release, she became a star, there was a very deceptive re-release of this movie, on which she was the top star! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: fair to good. The poster had many creases and scuffs in the lower right, especially over the title area. There was an extra vertical foldline to the right of the regular one, with some tiny bits of paper loss and some dot stains scattered down the center of the poster. There was an 8" tear in the left of the top border with two small areas of paper loss in O'Brien's cheek. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
