eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 6y1349 TOMORROW'S CHILDREN 1sh R1930s woman crying, a drama of human sterilization, rare! Date Sold 7/30/2024Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Undated (probably 1930s) Re-Release Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28" x 41" [71 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Tomorrow's Children, the 1934 Crane Wilbur forced-human-sterilization sexploitation melodrama ("A-Drama-Of-Human-Sterilization"; "Vital-Sex Drama"; "It's frank and shocking!"; "Must they suffer for the sins of their parents?"; "Are you fit to be a parent?"; "Must the daughter suffer for the sins of her parents?"; "See the sensational photoplay"; "Is every woman entitled to motherhood"; about a family on welfare who is told that their entire family must be involuntarily sterilized, so as to put no further burden on the state!; the oldest daughter refuses and runs away and she finds a doctor who testifies there is nothing wrong with her, but the judge refuses and orders her sterilized anyway, but it is revealed that the girl was actually adopted, so the sterilization operation is stopped just in time!; interestingly, it is not clear if the makers of the movie were against ALL sterilization, or just ones like the one presented in the movie, where it would have been done by mistake) starring Diane Sinclair (billed as "Diana Sinclair"; who went on to star in Edgar Ulmer's VD classic, "Damaged Lives"!), Sarah Padden, Donald Douglas, Sterling Holloway, Crane Wilbur, Constance Kent, and John Preston. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only auctioned two examples of this "crying style" poster before! Note that this poster could be from the first release of this movie in 1934, but it has a "silkscreen-like" look to it, so there is a possibility that it could be from this movie being shown in small towns throughout the U.S. over the next few years, as so many similar movies were shown in the 1930s and 1940s, in "roadshow" releases. In 2017, we were consigned a different one-sheet poster, which surely is from the first release in 1934, because it looks much more like a traditional movie poster. But that doesn't say that this poster is not from 1934, just that it seems more likely that it is from a "roadshow" release from the next few years (and we have auctioned one-sheets from this movie that have a date at the top that correlates to 1938, so we suspect that all these posters may be from a 1938 roadshow release). Note that in recent months we started auctioning a wonderful collection of sexploitation one-sheets that includes many extremely rare titles from a single collector. This month there are 130 different ones (all are in separate auctions), and they include a number of posters that we have only auctioned once or twice before. There are also a number with great images or taglines. This is an excellent opportunity to add one or more of these rare one-sheets to your collection, and this consignor only had one of each title, so on the rare ones, it may be quite some time before we offer the same title again! Condition: good to very good. The poster was folded somewhat oddly, resulting in some irregular folds, and there are creases and some scuffs scattered in various areas (see our image). It is otherwise in pretty nice condition and after a pretty simple linenbacking the poster will look great! Learn More about condition grades
