Note that Oliver Hardy became a major comedy star as "Babe Hardy" in 1914, and he made dozens of comedy shorts each year for the next few years. But because this is a time from when next to no one-sheets survive, very, very few one-sheets from any of those movies still exist! Around 1919, his career started to wind down, and he made fewer movies and had fewer lead roles, and by the early 1920s, he was no longer a major star. But he had the great fortune to meet and team up with an up and coming comedy star, Stan Laurel, and of course, they went on to be one of the greatest comedy teams of all time, not only in 1920s silent movies, but also in very memorable 1930s sound movies as well!
