Hull"; about an Arab sheik who meets a female British socialite, and he falls heavily for her, but she wants no part of him, so he kidnaps her and takes her to his palace in the desert; she rejects him, but after she is re-kidnapped by bandits does she start to realize that she has fallen in love with the sheik, who rescues her in the nick of time!) starring Rudolph Valentino (in the title role as Sheik Ahmed Ben Hassan), Agnes Ayres, Ruth Miller, George Waggner, and Adolphe Menjou. Note that Valentino had risen to stardom in the late 1910s, but this movie made him a superstar! He would complete ten more movies over the next five years, but sadly, after making a sequel to this movie, "The Son of the Sheik", in 1926, he passed away from complications after surgery. He was just 31 years of age, and the entire world mourned his passing. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we auctioned an example of this wonderful card 25 years ago, but we have never auctioned it since! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good to very good. The card was "starch backed", which means that it was moistened with a special starch solution, attached to a backing, allowed to dry, and then the card had touch up while it was backed, and afterward, the backing was removed. This particular card was folded down the middle and it had tape on the back of the top and bottom of that fold. It had paper loss in the right blank corners, with a few tears, pinholes, and tiny paper loss in the rest of the borders. The card was in "good" condition prior to restoration. The card was starch backed by a talented professional and expert restoration was performed to the above defects, and the card displays well! Learn More about condition grades
