What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had some tears scattered in the top center, including one that went into the top of the eagle's head and another in its neck, and one into the beak. There was some small paper loss on a long tear to the right of the bird. Someone put tape on the back of those tears, and it had bled through to the front somewhat. There were tears and paper loss around the edges and a few in other parts of the image. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
