An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Raymond Massey was a Canadian actor from the 1930s to the 1950s. Some of his movies include: Arsenic and Old Lace, A Matter of Life and Death, The Prisoner of Zenda, East of Eden, The Woman in the Window, Abe Lincoln In Illinois (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), How the West Was Won, A Canterbury Tale, Forty-Ninth Parallel, The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Old Dark House, The Fountainhead, and William Cameron Menzies' early science fiction (sci-fi) classic Things to Come. In addition to his great movie success, he also played Dr. Gillespie in the extremely popular "Dr. Kildare" TV series in the early 1960s. He passed away in 1983 at the age of 86. Important Added Info: Note that because this has a stamp on the back from the photographer Freulich, with "Universal Pictures Corp" below it, we know the still must have been taken in 1932, when Massey appeared in The Old Dark House for Universal, because that was his only movie for them until 1946. Bizarrely, the snipe on the back for Massey says that he is a "Universal scenario writer", which was not at all true, so we have no idea why it was there. Also note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. Condition: fair to good. There is faint scuffing scattered in the still, more so in the top half, but it is much more noticeable when the still is tilted to the light. The still has also slightly discolored unevenly.
