An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 41" x 81") (Learn More) My Friend the Devil, the 1922 Harry F. Millarde silent family relationship medical doctor religious awakening melodrama ("Read her diary!"; "Adapted from Georges Ohnet's novel 'Docteur Rameau'"; a wild story of a doctor who saw his mother killed by lightning when he was a boy, which made him an avowed atheist, and when he marries, his wife has a baby, but dies of heart disease; years later, on his daughter's wedding day, he learns of his wife's infidelity, and he ruins his daughter's wedding by making a scene; when she then suffers a collapse, he does all he can to save her, but it is only after he finally turns to God that his daughter is healed!) starring Charles Richman, Ben Grauer, William H. Tooker, Adolph Milar, and John Tavernier. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. This poster was linenbacked, and had significant restoration. If this bothers you, do not bid on this item! Read below for a complete description of the restoration this poster has had.; the poster had some areas of paper loss around the edges in the blank borders extending into the edges of the image; there were the following major areas of paper loss within the image: there was a 1" x 6" area of paper loss at the top center of the poster, a 1" circular area of paper loss at the top crossfold, a 1/2" x 2" area of paper loss in the man at center's temple, a 1/2" area of circular paper loss in the man at center's forehead, a 4" x 12" area of paper loss in the woman's neck and shoulders, and a 3" x 7" area of paper loss in the background at bottom right next to the man's sleeve; in addition to the above, there were many tears and small areas of paper loss down the center of the poster. Obviously, this poster had really major defects. But it is also extremely likely that no other example of this poster exists, so the master restorers at Studio C lovingly re-created the missing areas, and repaired the damage in the rest of the poster. They did an incredible job, and this poster now looks fantastic. If you read the description above, you will see that much of the real paper loss was in background or unimportant areas of the poster, and much of the most important part of the image is original. This is certainly one of the most striking poster images I have ever seen! Learn More about condition grades
