An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Style B Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Mr. Skeffington, the 1944 Vincent Sherman loveless marriage infidelity melodrama ("She was very lucky that Mr. Skeffington was such a gentleman!"; "A woman is beautiful only when she is loved...!"; "Book of the Month Club's story of stories has screendom's star of stars as its woman of many loves."; "From a story by 'Elizabeth'"; an extremely depressing movie about a rich Jewish-American man who helps a beautiful but treacherous woman's brother, and in return, she marries him, but it is a loveless marriage, and they separate, and there are many more tragedies in both their lives) starring Bette Davis (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; "at her very greatest in 'Mr. Skeffington'"), Claude Rains (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Job Skeffington), Walter Abel, Richard Waring, George Coulouris, Marjorie Riordan, Johnny Mitchell, and Robert Shayne NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Note also that this poster has never been machine folded! Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were machine folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT machine folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Condition: good to very good. The poster has tears of varying lengths, scuff marks and smudges around the edges and one of the large tears (that only affects blank paper) is repaired with tape from the back at right (see our image). There are a few faint smudges in the image. The ultra rare poster could be displayed as is, but after paperbacking with some restoration it would look and display really well.
