Note that many people consider this to be virtually a "perfect" western, and it is surely one of the best John Wayne movies there is! Also note that in 1967, Howard Hawks and John Wayne virtually remade this movie as "El Dorado", with Robert Mitchum and James Caan replacing Dean Martin and Ricky Nelson, but that movie pales in comparison to this one. Artist: Mario Piovano Important Added Info: Note that we have seen this poster with a 1978 date on it, but this one has a 1979 date, so it seems likely that there was a re-release at the end of 1978 that proved very popular, so they made new posters and continued the re-release into 1979. Note that it is difficult to accurately date Italian posters, and some unmarked re-release posters can be extremely difficult to distinguish from first releases, so please bear that in mind before you place a bid. We used our best information to date this poster, but we can't always guarantee that the Italian posters we sell are not from an unmarked re-release, but this will only prove to be true in a very tiny number of cases. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster was printed slightly "off register" (see our image). We have seen examples of this poster without the same printing defect, so it was surely not on all examples of this poster. It also had small paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on parts of some foldlines. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, but the restorer could not address the "off register" printing, so please read our description above and look at our super-sized image before placing a bid on this poster.
