Stage Door Canteen (A Soldier's Love Story), the 1943 Frank Borzage United Artists World War II (WWII) all-star romantic musical ("48 STARS plus 6 Name Bands"; "A story of lovetime in wartime!"; "The BIGGEST thing to hit the screen!"; "All rights granted by AMFA Theatre Wing"; in a moment of extreme patriotism, many of the top stars of many different studios appear together in a single "all-star" movie, in order to improve the morale of the troops) starring (in alphabetical order) Judith Anderson, Kenny Baker, Tallulah Bankhead, Ralph Bellamy, Edgar Bergen & Charlie McCarthy, Ray Bolger, Ina Claire, Katherine Cornell, Jane Cowl, Gracie Fields, Lynn Fontanne, Virginia Grey, Helen Hayes, Katharine Hepburn, Jean Hersholt, Allen Jenkins, George Jessel, Otto Kruger, Rosemary Lane, Gertrude Lawrence, Gypsy Rose Lee, Alfred Lunt, Aline MacMahon, Elsa Maxwell, Yehudi Menuhin, Ethel Merman, Ralph Morgan, Alan Mowbray, Paul Muni, Merle Oberon, George Raft, Lanny Ross, Martha Scott, Cornelia Otis Skinner, Ned Sparks, William Terry, Ethel Waters, Cheryl Walker, Johnny Weissmuller Arleen Whelan, Ed Wynn, Ruth Roman (uncredited and in her first film), Marjorie Riordan (one of the few non-celebrities in the movie!), Katharine Cornell, and Aline MacMahon, plus "6 Great Bands!" Kay Kyser, Freddy Martin, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Xavier Cugat, Guy Lombardo (the popular bandleader of the 1930s who became famous for his yearly rendition of "Auld Lang Sang" every New Year's Eve, as himself in a cameo role). Note that this movie featured 48 stars (plus 6 name bands), and the studio used the number of stars to allow them to advertise the movie as "a star for every star in the flag" (of course, 16 years later, they would no longer be able to use that slogan!).

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
