She appeared in only one film, Stage Door Canteen, but was best known for her many Broadway appearances including: The Barretts of Wimpole Street, Romeo and Juliet, Time for Comedy, Antony and Cleopatra, and The Constant Wife. She passed away in 1974 at the age of 81. Important Added Info: Note that this item (which is a personal letter from Miss Cornell to David Mallery) has been personally autographed (signed) by Katharine Cornell! She thanks Mr. Mallery for his recent "marvelous" letter that "almost made [her] weep. Note that this letter comes from the estate of David Mallery. He was a professor of cinematography at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, from the 1960s into the 1990s. He was a founding member of the AFI (American Film Institute), and a member of the Motion Picture Academy. He was a film critic who wrote many reviews for many publications, and hosted a TV show where he interviewed directors, actors, and others involved in the film industry. Condition: good to very good.
