Note that star Marlon Brando had a fascination for Tahitian women, which was a major factor in his wanting to make this movie. Before this film, he sought out and married Movita, who had starred in the 1935 version with Clark Gable, having two children with her. After the filming of this movie, he had an affair with Tarita, who played the role Movita had played in 1935, and he married and had two children with her as well! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that MGM had these special full color posters printed in Italy (it has information from the printer in a corner). We have previously auctioned three of these in individual auctions, but we have never before auctioned the one with Tarita, or the two horizontal ones. Condition: fair. All of the posters have varying amounts of staining in portions of the poster and in some areas of each poster the staining has deteriorated the poster and there is paper loss. The posters are in much lesser condition, so look at our supersized image and consider the cost of restoration before bidding on them. Obviously one would prefer to find them in better condition, but they are incredibly rare. Learn More about condition grades
