A 1960 Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Italian One-Panel (known in Italy as a "2 Fogli") Movie Poster (1p; measures 39" x 55" [99 x 140 cm]) (Learn More)

Sommarlek (released in the U.S. in 1954 as "Illicit Interlude", and released in other English-speaking countries as "Summer Interlude"), the 1951 Ingmar Bergman Swedish romantic ballet dance tragedy melodrama ("Ingmar Bergman's most personal film") starring Maj-Britt Nilsson (billed here as "May Britt"; she is NOT the same Swedish actress who married Sammy Davis Jr, although they were sometimes billed with the exact same name!), Birger Malmsten, Alf Kjellin, Annalisa Ericsson, Georg Funkguist, Stig Olin, Mimi Pollak, "and the Royal Stockholm Opera Ballet". Note that the American distributor of this film gave it the title "Illicit Interlude", no doubt in an attempt to make it sound like a more risque movie!

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the crossfolds and a few small tears and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some foldlines. There was tiny paper loss in the lower right red area. There was a 12" tear in the bottom center running into the word "Ingmar". There was small paper loss and a water stain in the lower left blank border. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
