An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Maker of Men, the 1931 Edward Sedgwick football sports family relationship romantic melodrama (about a college student whose father is the football coach, and he joins the team, but he does so badly that his father kicks him off, and his girlfriend throws him out, and the college expels him, but he joins the rival college's team, and tries to win the big game against his father's team) starring Jack Holt, Richard Cromwell, Joan Marsh, Robert Alden, Walter Catlett, John Wayne, Ward Bond, and Buster Crabbe. Note that this is one of the many movies John Wayne made after he did not succeed as the star of "The Big Trail". It was around this time that Columbia started putting him in their B-westerns, which of course led to his success with other studios' westerns (most notably Republic). He played one of the football players in this movie, which made sense, since he had been a college football player, and Ward Bond and Buster Crabbe were two of the uncredited football players! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. There are faint smudges and scuffs scattered throughout the card, but they are mostly only noticeable when the card is tilted to the light. There are two tack holes in the top center of the image background. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
