An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) With Byrd at the South Pole, the 1930 Antarctica airplane aviation documentary ("Drama of human daring and courage at the bottom of the world!"; "What human eyes never saw! Where woman has never been!"; "The greatest story of daring and courage ever told!"; "Actually filmed in the vast unknown of the Antarctic"; "Fearlessly - this band of adventurers entered the vast unknown of the Antarctic! With the odds against them they lived through the greatest fear of daring and courage ever recorded!") featuring Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd, Clair D. Alexander, Brent Blachen, George H. Black, and Quin A. Blackburn NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the vast majority of collectors would assume that this is a title card, but it is not! In the mid to late 1920s, Paramount made many sets of lobby cards where all of the scene cards LOOK like title cards, but there actually isn't a title card at all (around this time, Paramount abandoned title cards altogether for the most part for the next forty-odd years, instead often using a posed portrait of the stars in place of a title card). This scene card is from one of those sets where the scene cards are commonly mistaken for title cards. Please do not bid on it thinking it is a title card, as it is a scene card, and there is no title card, because we have seen the entire set and there is no title card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. The card had water stains and pinholes in the corners, with some around the edges. Someone put tape on the back of the pinholes and performed slight restoration to the front, but very little. The card displays pretty well regardless. See our super-sized images to get a good sense of the condition of this card. Learn More about condition grades
