An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Still (Learn More) Glorious Betsy, the 1928 Alan Crosland historical biographical France romantic melodrama (based on the true story of Napoleon's brother Jerome, who went to the U.S. and fell in love with a southern belle, and he married her and took her back to France, and Napoleon had the marriage annulled, and sent the belle back to the U.S.) starring Dolores Costello (in the title role as Betsy Patterson), Conrad Nagel (as Jerome Bonaparte), John Miljan, Marc McDermott, and Pasquale Amato (as Napoleon Bonaparte). Note that this movie was a partial talkie and originally had two sound sequences, but while the movie still exists, the sound has been lost. Also note that the play this movie was based on had an artificial happy ending that did not happen in real life.
