An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Pardon My Backfire, the 1953 Jules White 3-D (3D; 3-Dimension) slapstick car automobile crime comedy short ("More 3-D FUN! More 3-D LAFFS! More 3-D eleriums [sic]!"; the Stooges are mechanics desperately in need of money; crooks come to their garage in need of repairs, and the Stooges manage to capture them and get a reward so they can marry their girlfriends!) starring The Three Stooges (Moe Howard, Larry Fine, Shemp Howard), Benny Rubin, Frank Sully, Phil Arnold, and Barbara Bartay NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that movie paper for this Three Stooges comedy is incredibly rare. We have only auctioned a different one-sheet for it (in 2015 and it sold of $760!) and otherwise only a few 8x10 stills but no other movie paper for it whatsoever! Note also that the poster has "1 SHEET R53-IN-2D" on the back. The "R53" would refer to it being revised from what was originally planned. It is odd that it has the stamp, however, because it is clear that this is the 3D style of poster! Note finally that this movie was originally in 3-D. The studios created both 3D and 2D posters and lobby cards (the 2-D posters and lobby cards were for theaters that lacked the 3-D equipment). This poster is from the "3-D" release. Condition: good. The poster was used in a theater that did not have 3D capability, and they taped a snipe over the 3D area and there is a brown tape stain to the left and right of that box. The poster is very fragile and there are also many areas of separation in parts of the folds with some tears and small paper loss in the left half of the middle fold and paper loss at the middle crossfold. There are many pairs of staple holes and smudges around the edges and the bottom border was folded back at one time. The poster is certainly in urgent need of restoration, but after being linenbacked by a talented professional it will display wonderfully. Still, bear all of the above in mind before bidding on this very rare poster. Learn More about condition grades
