An Original Vintage Theatrical 5 1/4" x 8" [13 x 20 cm] Movie Still (glued to autographed backing board that measures 8 1/2" x 11") (Learn More) Steve Allen was a musician who also appeared in some movies and television from the 1950s to the 1990s. Some of his roles include: The Steve Allen Show, The Love Boat and St. Elsewhere. He was an early host of the Tonight Show, and he is said to have composed more than 7,400 songs, including: This Could Be the Start of Something Big, The Gravy Waltz, and Bowery Blues. He passed away in 2000 at the age of 78. Important Added Info: Note that this still is glued to an 8 1/2" x 11" stiff backing board that has been personally autographed (signed) by Steve Allen (obviously, the still was glued first, because Mr. Allen's inscription refers to this zany still)! Also note that this still was trimmed prior to being glued and it now measures 5 1/4" x 8" [13 x 20 cm]. Note that our consignor was a major collector of autographs (mostly on stills, both vintage and repro), and he would go to events or conventions where stars would appear in person and that is how he acquired the signatures on this item. We feel it is quite likely that the autograph on this item is authentic (and it was likely acquired in person), but we do not have a certificate of authenticity. Condition: very good. The still was trimmed prior to being glued, and the backing board is slightly rippled in the left and right, but otherwise, this is in nice condition and displays great!
