An Autographed Original Vintage Magazine (measures 11" x 15" [28 x 38 cm]) (Learn More) Rodney Cline 'Rod' Carew is a legendary Panamanian former professional black African American sports baseball player from 1967 to 1985, playing with the Minnesota Twins and the California Angels as both first and second baseman. Carew was the 1967 American League Rookie of the Year! He hit over 3,000 hits, and only 92 of them were home runs (he was a classic "singles hitter";, and his lifetime batting average was .328, and he flirted with .400 several times)! He then went on to coach the Anaheim Angels and the Milwaukee Brewers. As of 2021, Carew is still alive at the age of 75! Important Added Info: Note that the cover of this magazine has been personally autographed (signed) by Rod Carew (he obviously was signing it to a close personal friend by the way he wrote the inscription). Note that this signed item was consigned to us from the estate of Bob DePietro, who was a very longtime collector/dealer of movie memorabilia. He also worked in the movie business, and had close contact with many celebrities, and acquired many signed items in person. He is no longer with us to tell us how this signed item was acquired, and there is no certificate of authenticity, but we feel certain it is authentic. Condition: very good.
