An Undated (probably 1960s) Realart Re-release Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") with Certificate of Authenticity (Learn More) Frankenstein, the classic 1931 James Whale Universal monster horror thriller ("The monster that terrorized the world!"; "The Man Who Made a Monster"; "Warning! The monster is loose!"; "Based upon the Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley Story"; "Adapted by John L. Balderston from the play by Peggy Webling"; the first of the Universal "Frankenstein" movies, and regarded as one of the finer movies of any genre, in large part due to the marvelous acting of Boris Karloff, and the marvelous direction of James Whale!) starring Colin Clive (as Dr. Herbert V. Frankenstein), Boris Karloff (as the Frankenstein monster), Edward Van Sloan, Fredric Kerr, Mae Clarke, Dwight Frye (extremely memorable as Fritz), and John Boles NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster comes with a signed certificate of authenticity which states this poster was from the collection of Forrest J. Ackerman. Who among us can afford the zillion dollar 1931 original one-sheet from this horror classic? To me, this 1960s re-release, with an excellent image, makes a very attractive alternative (especially considering that it is in relatively nice condition)! Condition: very good. There are pinholes in the blank corners and tape stains in the top blank corners. There are smudges and tiny creases in the vertical foldline between the middle crossfold and the bottom crossfold. There is a series of tiny tears in the extreme right 6" of the top foldline in the green background under the "IN" of "FRANKENSTEIN" and continuing to near the right blank border. Other than the above basically minor defects, the poster is in nice condition! Its defects are the sort that respond very well to restoration. After linenbacking by a top professional, the poster would look fantastic, and there would be little paint anywhere on the poster! Learn More about condition grades
