An Original Vintage Magazine (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]) (Learn More) Screen Play, one of the many movie magazines sold to the public. Each issue features a great full color cover of a leading star of the day, plus lots of interior publicity stories about current stars and movies with many black and white images throughout. Also, in every issue are many wonderful vintage ads in black and white, and sometimes the ads can be just as much fun as the original stories and pictures. Of course, some of the ads are from movies that were about to open, and in the early days of eBay, people would remove those full-page ads and auction them by themselves, and they would often sell for $10, $20, or more, just for a single movie ad removed from a magazine just like this! Note that this magazine was called "Screen Play Secrets" until February of 1931. In that issue, the title was still called "Screen Play Secrets" on the spine, but the cover simply read "Screen Play" with the subtitle "Secrets of Movieland" underneath. Starting in the next issue, the subtitle was changed to "Secrets of Hollywood", and after five issues of that, the subtitle was dropped altogether, and the magazine became simply "Screen Play". At some point in 1937, this magazine joined with "Screen Book" into a single magazine called just "Screen Book". Artist: Henry Clive Important Added Info: Note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, and pictures of interior two-page spreads (including the table of contents page if there is one; but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine, and the contents page lets you know exactly what articles and stories are contained in this particular issue. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided. Condition: fair. There is much staining in the top left of the cover and the interior pages, but otherwise, the rest of the magazine is in surprisingly nice condition. Note that we have attempted to check to see if the magazine is complete and uncut, and we believe that it is. However, there is a slight possibility that we might have missed a small cut or a page that was neatly removed, and if that happens, you can return the magazine. We have solely provided an overall description of the condition of the magazine, but you can also refer to our super-sized images. Please bid (or not bid) based on that overall grade and by viewing the super-sized images. Learn More about condition grades
