An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Japanese "B2" Movie Poster (measures 20 1/4" x 28 5/8" [51 x 73 cm]) (Learn More) Sanma No Aji (released in the U.S. in 1964 as "An Autumn Afternoon" and also as "The Widower"), the 1962 Yasujiro Ozu Japanese family relationship melodrama (about a widower who has an adult daughter who takes care of him, and he kindly arranges a marriage for her) starring Chishu Ryu, Shima Iwashita, Keiji Sada, Mariko Okada, and Teruo Yoshida. Note that Yasujiro Ozu was a legendary Japanese writer and director from 1920s to the 1960s. He is likely the second best regarded Japanese director after Akira Kurosawa, and many of his films are considered classics, and his masterpiece is "Tokyo Story" from 1953, although he made movies from 1927 to 1962. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this Japanese poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this Japanese movie! Condition: fair to good. The poster has pretty substantial paper loss along portions of the right edge (see our image) and there is some paper loss at upper left. The images that remain are in pretty nice condition, but the ultra-rare poster could greatly benefit from professional restoration (but please bear in mind the cost of restoration before placing a bid.)
