An Original Vintage Photographic Transparency (measures 3 1/4" x 3 1/2" [8 x 9 cm]) (Learn More) Jean Seberg was an actress from the 1950s to the 1970s. Her career started in as promising a way as any actress ever! Otto Preminger held a massive worldwide search for the star of his Saint Joan, and Seberg was chosen from 18,000 entrants! She made an even greater mark in Jean-Luc Godard's A Bout De Souffle (Breathless). She seemed to have unlimited potential at that time, and over the next decade, she starred in Lilith, opposite Warren Beatty, as a young woman suffering from schizophrenia, and she turned down many of the more memorable young female parts of that time, including in The Graduate. But she suffered from depression, and she became involved with the Black Panthers. Seberg also married the much older Romain Gary, and became pregnant by another man. She gave birth, but the child died, and she blamed herself, and tried to commit suicide many times, and finally succeeded in 1979 (although some think that she was actually murdered). She was 40 years old. Important Added Info: Note that this is a studio-issued transparency that is produced by the studio but is not the camera original. When a smaller format film was originally used, a larger copy transparency was often made by the studio so that retouching could be added and sent out or used for approved publication purposes. The transparency is in a cardboard holder that has a snipe that has "PAINT YOUR WAGON, JEAN SEBERG" at the right and then production numbers written at the bottom (see our second image). This is a very special auction of 444 extremely rare negatives and transparencies of various sizes. EVERY single one in this auction is either "studio issued" (meaning it was created by the studio and sent to theaters and movie outlets), OR it is a "camera original" (meaning it was the actual negative that was in the camera when the photographer took the picture). Every auction clearly identifies which they are, and there are no items being auctioned that are not either "studio issue" or "camera originals". We have divided them by type and size. Also note that every one of these 444 auctions have had their transparencies and/or negatives scanned expertly. This auction contains that scan with the "eMoviePoster.com" watermark over it. ONLY the winner of this auction will, on request, be sent UNWATERMARKED scan(s) of the items in this auction, which will both save them the time and expense of scanning them themselves, and also allow them to make high quality positive prints of the items they purchased.
