An Original Vintage Theatrical Style B Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More)

The House Without a Key, the 1926 Spencer Gordon Bennet (billed as "Spencer Bennet") silent romantic action adventure murder mystery family relationship crime thriller serial ("From the 'Saturday Evening Post' story by Earl Derr Biggers"; a complicated story about two brothers who have not talked in many years; one of them lives in Honolulu, Hawaii, and he instructs his nephew to go to his house in San Francisco and retrieve a box there, and take an ocean liner to Hawaii, and dump the contents of the box in the sea, but the nephew is murdered on the cruise, and a famous detective named Charlie Chan is a passenger, and he is asked to solve the murder, and he does so by finding the passenger who has a watch that is missing the number 3!) starring Allene Ray, Walter Miller, E.H. Calvert, Betty Caldwell, and George Kuwa (billed as "Charlie Chan"). Note that this was the absolute first movie ever to have Charlie Chan in it, and he proved so popular that the character went on to appear in 46 more movies over a span of many years, and played by many different actors. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Important Added Info: Note that any movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned anything other than a single lobby card and a style A glass slide (which was 7 years ago, and it sold for $322) from this movie until we received this style B glass slide! Also note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline).

Condition: good to very good.
