The Matchmaker, the 1958 Joseph Anthony romantic marriage comedy ("You'll laugh... You'll love... The Matchmaker"; "From the play by Thornton Wilder") starring Shirley Booth (as Dolly 'Gallagher' Levi), Anthony Perkins, Shirley MacLaine, Paul Ford, and Robert Morse. This non-musical movie was turned into a Broadway musical, Hello Dolly, which was then turned into a movie in 1969, starring Barbra Streisand and Louis Armstrong.

Important Added Info: Note that studios had to submit their photos for approval, and those photos were often unretouched, because there was no sense in touching them up if they were not approved. Often, they would touch up the negative to make the star's skin appear perfect and unblemished and unlined. All but one of these stills has a faint purple ink pad stamp near one edge that reads: "This Proof is Unretouched" (see our images).
