An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 29" x 42" [74 x 107 cm]) (Learn More)

Paramount Pictures, the circa 1915 stock poster ("Paramount Pictures Can Be Seen at the Best Theatres in your city"). Originally, Paramount was a not a studio, but was a "releasing program" that was a group of small studios who joined together to have an added advantage releasing their movies under one production name. This poster was created to send to theaters who showed mostly Paramount silent movies in its earliest days. Note that even in 1915, the famous Paramount Pictures logo was virtually identical to what it would be many decades later!
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet measures 29" x 42" [74 x 107 cm]. Please do not bid on it thinking that it is 27" x 41".

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. The poster had a triangular area of paper loss in the right of the top foldline, which included part of the top of the letters of "amount". There were also many small tears and small areas of paper loss on the other two horizontal folds (the poster was never folded vertically) and there was paper loss at the right end of the bottom horizontal fold. There were tears and paper loss around the edges of the poster and some darkening across the middle fold. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. Given its many defects, the restorer did the best he/she could, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects (but certainly, the poster could still be displayed and enjoyed!).
