An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Craig's Wife, the 1928 William C. de Mille romantic melodrama ("Adapted by Clara Beranger from the stage play by George Kelly"; about a woman who cares about material success above all else, and puts keeping her home ahead of helping her husband, who is falsely accused of murder!) starring Irene Rich (in the title role as Harriet Craig), Warner Baxter (in the title role as Walter Craig), Virginia Bradford, Carroll Nye, Lilyan Tashman, and George Irving. Note that this was the first adaptation of this Pulitzer Prize-winning play. The second was in 1936, with the same name, with Rosalind Russell starring, and the third was re-titled "Harriet Craig" in 1950, and had Joan Crawford starring. Also note that Warner Baxter was born in 1889, and in the early 1920s he rose to prominence in silent movies, becoming a major star of the 1920s, while he was in his 30s. He won the Oscar for Best Actor as The Cisco Kid in "In Old Arizona" in 1929, and he remained a top star throughout the 1930s! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
