A Group of 25 Original Vintage Movie Concept Art Test Prints (each measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]) (Learn More) John Carpenter's The Thing, the 1982 John Carpenter horror science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("The Ultimate in Alien Terror."; "Man is the warmest place to hide."; set in Antarctica; "Based on the story 'Who Goes There?' by John W. Campbell Jr."; it is a re-make of the 1951 movie, "The Thing from Another World", based on the same story, and with James Arness as "The Thing") starring Kurt Russell, Wilford Brimley, T.K. Carter, David Clennon, Keith David, Richard Dysart, Charles Hallahan, Peter Maloney, Richard Masur, Donald Moffat, Joel Polis, and Thomas G. Waites. This is one of Carpenter's best movies, and in many ways it is more enjoyable and superior to the original version! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned ANY of these test prints! They are NOT Xeroxes. They are printed on the same paper that was used for ad slicks, and they were found in the studio files from when this movie was made, and obviously, they show LOTS of intended possible designs for the posters (including a number with different taglines from what was eventually used), all of which were eventually rejected (and some of them are really cool and certainly COULD have been used). Note: We have 13 images of these test prints, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 13 images are displayed above.
