An Original Vintage Linenbacked English English Three-Sheet (called a 6sh in England) Stage Play Poster (3sh; measures 40" x 59 1/2" [102 x 151 cm]) (Learn More) Jane Shore, the circa 1900s Max Goldberg English stage play production (about one of the many mistresses of King Edward IV of England, one of three whom he described as "the merriest, the wiliest, and the holiest harlots" in his realm). If anyone knows more about this production, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this English stage play three-sheet is INCOMPLETE, and the section that is present measures 40" x 59 1/2" [102 x 151 cm]. We would imagine the missing bottom area had information about where the show was playing and possibly small credits. We don't know if it also had more image, because we have never seen an example of the complete poster. However, do not bid on this poster unless you can accept that it is missing its bottom one-third. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: poor to fair. The bottom one-third of the poster is missing. The top two-thirds of the poster had many tears and tiny areas of paper loss along parts of the folds, with smudges and scuffs scattered in all the solid background areas. It had some tears and pinholes around the edges. Overall, the poster was in poor to fair condition prior to linenbacking. Someone linenbacked the two-thirds of the poster that was present (since it can be displayed without the missing bottom third), but in the part that is present, you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. In addition, the bottom piece of the poster, the top border of which is above the woman's head, had tears and tiny paper loss along that edge, and the restorer did not glue it properly, and it is slightly "chipping" in that area and needs to be corrected by a restorer. So obviously, this poster has really major defects, including missing its bottom third, so bear all this in mind before bidding. Learn More about condition grades
