Date Sold 3/27/2016 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 8 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) Norma Shearer was the great MGM leading lady of the 1920s and 1930s. She was married to studio head Irving Thalberg in 1927, and that seemed to greatly help her career, and his untimely death in 1936 seemed to coincide with the decline of her career. But that is probably really unfair, because while her marriage to Thalberg greatly helped her get top parts, she did wonderfully in many major movies! Some of her movies include: Romeo & Juliet (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), The Barretts of Wimpole Street, Marie Antoinette (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), The Divorcee (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Escape, Free Soul (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Their Own Desire (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), and The Women. She passed away in 1983 at the age of 80. Condition: good to very good. One or more have tears and/or other defects around the edges (see our image), some of which may have been repaired with tape from the back. One or more of the stills has been trimmed. The trimming can either be seen in our super-sized image, or if not, then please see our measurement range above to get a sense of the amount of trimming (in some cases the trimming is very minimal and the stills measure very close to 8" x 10", and in those cases there will not be a range of measurements).
