An Undated (most likely late 1940s; from the first Belgian release) Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Belgian Movie Poster (measures 15 1/2" x 24") (Learn More) J'Accuse! (released in the U.S. as "I Accuse"), the 1938 Abel Gance French post-World War I (WWI) anti-war science fiction (sci-fi) horror thriller (a wild story about a man who seeks a machine to prevent war from occurring, but does not succeed, so he summons the ghosts of fallen soldiers from French battlefields to help him!) starring Victor Francen, Line Noro, Marie Lou, Jean-Max, and Paul Amoit. Note that Abel Gance had made an earlier silent version of this movie with the same title in 1919! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was printed on the back of an old map! During World War II in Belgium, there was a massive paper shortage, and so they used whatever paper they could find to print the movie posters, and in many cases they used old maps or old posters, and printed the movie posters on the reverse. They often also made the posters smaller, so they could get more posters printed. This practice continued for a couple of years after World War II. Since these posters are original, and since all such posters are printed on the back of maps or other posters, this is not considered a defect by almost all collectors. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. There is a 1 1/4" tear in the middle of the right edge that has been repaired with tape from the back. The top 2" of the poster was folded back at one time and there are some creases and scuffs scattered throughout. Learn More about condition grades
